New blogger

Welcome to Steve Laing on this blog.
Like Bob, I am somewhat dis-enchanted with Google.
Having learned to use BlogSpot, it has now been "improved" and is much more difficult to manage.
By the amount we are using it, I think it will die a natural death!!

Website

Tried putting some old video of Loch Insh on the website last night.
Problem. I quickly exceeded my online webspace allowance (250MB).
This is the webspace provided by my ISP, PlusNet.
I'll make up tasters for each film, say the first minute of each (some are 30 minutes long) and try that. You'll see another option appear on the home page "videos" to view.
OR, we could buy webhost space @£5 per month, £60 per year.
At the moment, all we pay is £6.24 every 2 years for the domain name.

Club website update

Right dour weather today so I've spent a few hours updating the website.
New entry on the Loch Insh Splash-In photo pages.
And put in dates for next year.
I WILL be at Loch Insh next year, until Sunday lunchtine.
Will have to depart early to catch a plane to my son's marriage in BC.
Suggestions / new photos for the website always welcome.

Hi Folks, DFoes not look at all busy here.

Any way, Dot and I WILL BE AT L. INSH. Dot has been busy getting stuff ready for the raffle, anything you are offering will be welcome too. She asks, Please can you let her know your donation before the raffle ticket sale, as people do ask "what are the prizes".

Website and next year

Hi Folks,

Finished updating the Loch Insh 2010 photos, with some late arrivals.

No more please.

Bob and Dot will be on tour next September, not at Loch Insh.

So, if we are to run a raffle, we need a new volunteer.

WordPress

Bad security issues, we'll stay with Google Blogspot!

Website

Finished updating for a while http://www.cairngorm-mfc.org.uk/
Have put all documentation for Loch Insh on the site for downloading by anyone who might run it in the future.
Am now looking at alternative blogs.
WordPress is possibility, but no easier as a closed group blog than this.
I also belong to a big blog group using Yahoo, but that is not as reliable as this.
Well done Duncan, first person to put a picture on the blog.
